American Rapper Kanye West Made Announcement for Standing as a Candidate for the US Elections 2020

The year 2020
has been a complete roller coaster ride, especially for Americans. In the
middle of the pandemic arose the incident of George Floyd’s death that led to
nationwide protests and riots, further increasing coronavirus cases. President Donald Trump’s misleading video, violence triggering posts, and tweets on social media created unrest and problems not only for social media giants but
also for the president himself who came under the spotlight of criticism.
Amid the chaos which the US is facing, the American rapper Kanye West announced his candidacy
for US Presidentship. The 43 years old hip-hop singer tweeted on the American
Independence Day which was kind of surprise for everyone as this tweet was more
appropriate for April Fool’s Day, moreover neither he has filed himself with
the Federal Election Commission nor he has created any election campaign. Anyways, if Mr. West is serious then this
means he is contesting against Republican President Donald Trump and Democrat
Joe Biden, while he would have to run as an independent candidate.
Mr. West tweeted
“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting
God, unifying our vision and building our future, I am running for president of
the United States!”. This tweet was followed by the American flag, exclamation
mark, and hashtag 2020VISION. Within a few hours of the announcement, the tweet
got 915.1K likes and 447.4K retweets. Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX and
Tesla replied to the announcement by saying” You have my full support!”. Kanye
is now trending on twitter.
