Google Honors Hollywood Icon Shirley Temple with Google Doodle

 

Today Google is celebrating the memory of Shirley Temple with an animated doodle. She was an American actress, dancer, singer, and diplomat. She was Hollywood’s number one box-office draw since her childhood. She has received many awards and honors during her lifetime. Her name is immortalized by a mocktail that is named after her. 

 

Temple was born on April 23rd,1928 in Santa Monica, California. The Dimpled girl started her film carrier at the age of three and appeared in 29 films till the age of ten. She did 14 more films from the age of 14 to 21 and retired at the age of 22. Later on, she gracefully transitioned into full-time public service. Temple helped millions of Americans during the tough time of The Great Depression. She also charmed the world through her work in international relations. She was appointed as United States ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia and also worked as a Chief of Protocol of the United States.  

 

On this day in 2015, the Santa Monica History Museum opened “Love, Shirley Temple,” a notable exhibit that features a collection of her rare memorabilia.
