Recently Nintendo has announced that it will shut down Dr. Mario World mobile game on 1st November 2021. The gaming giant took this decision because of its worst performance in terms of revenue generation.

Nintendo developed and published Dr. Mario World in 2019 in collaboration with Line Corporation and NHN Entertainment. It is a match-three mobile game in which pills wipe out viruses by matching the color of the capsule to that of the virus. The capsule moves upwards, and players can change its orientation in the horizontal or vertical direction. Once the pill settles, the color of the side of the tablet/pill that matches at least two viruses will destroy them. The level completes after removing all viruses.

The company thanked the players and wrote in” the end of service notice” that,

“Thank you for playing the Dr. Mario World game.

The Dr. Mario World game’s service will end on Oct. 31, 2021 (Sun).

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has played the game since it began service on July 10, 2019.”

The company also informed the players that the diamonds will no longer be available to buy pills, power-ups, and time by July 29th.

On opening Dr. Mario World, the players will see the end of service notification once the service ends. However, the history of the game will be available on Dr. Mario World Memories, a web page that will become available after the service will discontinue.
