Super Nintendo World is all Set to Open on 4th February 2021

 

Universal Studios Japan announced the opening of its $580 million entertainment venue on 4th February 2021. It will be the world’s first interactive Mario Kart themed park. This much-awaited attraction is located in Osaka.  


The park was planned to complete before the 2020 Olympics but due to COVID-19, its opening was pushed back to spring 2021. Super Nintendo World which is built in Universal Studios Japan is based on Nintendo Co.’s famous game “Super Mario Bros.” The park will have rides, shops, and walk-through activities. The main attraction will be a Mario Kart Rollercoaster ride. It is located inside Bowser’s castle and riders will need to wear Mario cap-shaped headsets supported by AR and projection mapping technology.

A themed café and products store have already opened at Universal Studios Japan, offering a menu related to the super Mario bros. theme. The menu includes Mario and Lingui-themed pancake sandwiches, A super mushroom drink, and fruit cream sodas with mustached straws. The merchandise consists of theme-based cushions, pouch, and T-shirts.

The visitors will enter the Super Nintendo World via a tunnel. Though the park looks small, it will be expanded with a Donkey Kong-themed area. The Universal Studio and Nintendo plan to open similar parks in Orlando, Hollywood, and Singapore parks in the future.

In the pandemic situation, the question of social distancing and keeping the park and interactive items clean and sanitized remains unanswered. The park administration claims that they are working with health administration officials to ensure a safe and clean environment for the staff and visitors.
