Security and authentication features hold an important place when we talk about modern devices and services. With increasing progress in technology and attacks by hackers and cybercrimes, the need for higher security protocols and methods has increased, and fortunately, Yubico’s YubiKey 5C NFC serves the purpose. Modern devices are switching from the traditional USB-A to USB-C connections and the popularity of USB-C connectors is rapidly increasing. While some prefer the USB-C plug-n-go experience, many devices prefer NFC protocol but YubiKey 5C NFC merges both functionalities on a single key, making it a perfect hardware authentication device.

YubiKey 5C NFC also offers compatibility with modern security standards like FIDO2 and WebAuthn and supports the smart cards. This key strengthens the authentication by replacing passwords with strong hardware-based authentication by making use of public-key cryptography.

Since we are bound to work online due to the pandemic it is a challenge for the companies to provide a secure online environment to its clients and users. Security keys have proven to protect against phishing and man-in-the-middle attacks most of the time. It’s easy for you, just plug in the device and authenticate. It is priced at $55 which is quite affordable.
